Birch Malotky
Birch Malotky is a writer, editor, and community organizer living in Laramie, Wyoming. As the editor of Western Confluence magazine and the Ruckelshaus Institute's emerging issues initiative coordinator at the University of Wyoming, her work focuses on storytelling and collaboration around emerging natural resource issues in the Mountain West. She sees the core of her work as building shared understanding and making connections, an endeavor she approaches with curiosity, empathy, and a transdisciplinarity influenced in part by her mixed background in the sciences and humanities, research and practice. She holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Wyoming and a BS in Environmental Science from Brown University.
