Margaret Gratian is a second year PhD student in the Reliability Engineering program at the University of Maryland, College Park. She graduated with a B.S in Mathematics and Computer Science in 2015, also from the University of Maryland, where she was a member of the Digital Cultures and Creativity Honors Program. Margaret’s research interests are in cybersecurity, specifically in developing metrics that enable better quantification and understandings of security. Though she works as a computer scientist and studies technical fields, Margaret has a great love for the humanities and is interested in the intersections of math, technology, and art. In her free time, Margaret enjoys painting, reading, yoga, and being outdoors.
